06 May 2026 Volion’s 73 sparks Harding’s charge to tie for 11th
ST. JOSEPH, Mo. — Propelled by a masterful performance from junior Vivian Volion, the Harding Lady Bisons made a significant move up the leaderboard Tuesday during the second round of the NCAA Division II Central Regional at St. Joseph Country Club.

Harding carded a team score of 18-over par 306—a 26-stroke improvement over their opening round. The surge moved the Lady Bisons up six spots into a tie for 11th place with a two-day total of 62-over 638.
Volion provided the spark for the Bisons’ turnaround. After an opening-round 85, she fired a 1-over par 73 on Tuesday, anchored by a blistering 2-under 35 on the back nine. The 73 tied for Volion’s second-best score of the season and allowed her to vault 47 spots up the individual leaderboard into a tie for 32nd place at 14-over for the tournament.
Senior Pilar Martinez remains the top-placed Lady Bison after two rounds. Martinez carded a steady 5-over 77 on Tuesday and is currently tied for 22nd at 12-over par.
Sydney Kincade also made a jump Tuesday, shooting a 5-over 77 to move into a tie for 42nd (+16), while Madeleine Wilson carded a 7-over 79 to sit in a tie for 67th (+20). Sidney Gainor rounded out the Harding card with an 85 and sits in 95th place.
No. 35-ranked Rogers State holds the team lead at 41-over 617, holding a slim one-stroke advantage over Minnesota State and Nebraska-Kearney. Individually, Southwestern Oklahoma State’s Freya Sala leads the field at 3-over 147, holding a three-shot cushion heading into the final day.
Conditions remained difficult at the St. Joseph Country Club, as the field average of 80.08 was only slightly lower than Monday’s mark.
Harding enters Wednesday’s final round trailing the top-five cutline by 18 strokes as they look to conclude their postseason run. Tee times for the final round have not yet been announced.
