UALR Track and Field athletes receive weekly honors

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. — The Little Rock Track and Field teams had athletes honored with Ohio Valley Conference weekly honors that were released Wednesday, March 27.  Tyler Moore, Alexia Washington, and Matthew Tyeskie received recognition after their performances at the Texas A&M Invitational this past weekend.

Moore was named the OVC Male Track Athlete of the Week after setting the 400m Hurdle school record at the Texas A&M Invitational with a time of 52.47.  The Pipe Creek, Texas-native is currently ranked first in the OVC and 33rd in the NCAA.

Washington earned her second-straight OVC Freshman of the Week honor after placing second with a personal best distance of 39-8 (12.09m) at the Texas A&M Invitational.  The Rosenberg, Texas-native is currently ranked first in the OVC and second in school records. She was also the top Trojan finisher in the women’s long jump placing tenth with a distance of 18-6 (5.64m).

Tyeskie earned OVC Freshman of the Week honors after placing third in the 100m Hurdles at the Texas A&M Invitational tying his personal best time of 14.05.  The Kilgore, Texas-native is currently ranked first in the OVC and 33rd in the NCAA.
