Harding’s Zlatar named Men’s Tennis Championship’s ‘A Game’ Scholar-Athlete

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Teodor Zlatar of Harding University has been named the Association’s Mammoth “A Game” Scholar-Athlete of the 2024 MIAA/GAC Men’s Tennis Championship.

Six MIAA/GAC men’s tennis teams will meet in Edmond, Okla., May 1-3 for the 2024 MIAA/GAC Tennis Championship. Among all the student-athletes competing in the championship tournament, Harding’s Teodor Zlatar was selected as the championship’s “A Game” Scholar-Athlete, presented by Mammoth.

Established by the MIAA in 2022, the Mammoth “A Game” Scholar-Athlete Award acknowledges the overall excellence of a student-athlete by recognizing one individual who has contributed to their team’s success, while also achieving the highest academic standard among peers. The student-athlete honored with the “A Game” Scholar-Athlete Award must be an active member of a qualifying team and must have a minimum of two terms completed at the institution.

Zlatar is a junior from Ludbreg, Croatia on the Bisons tennis team. Pursuing a degree in computer science, Zlatar has a 4.0 grade point average with 49 credits completed. He also finished the regular season with a record of 14-5 in singles competition and 12-4 in doubles. Zlatar was one of 24 men’s tennis players named to the 2024 All-MIAA/GAC Team. He was a First Team selection at No. 1 doubles with his teammate Cas de Ruiter and a Second Team selection at No. 2 singles.

Zlatar will be honored with the MIAA “A Game” trophy, presented by Mammoth, before the opening matches of the 2024 MIAA/GAC Tennis Championship on Wednesday, May 1. The first-round matches are set for 10 a.m. at Edmond Center Court in Edmond, Okla. Fans can watch the action live, exclusively on The MIAA Network
