14 Aug 2024 Golf scramble and casino events benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities
LITTLE ROCK — The Annual RMHCAR-NLA Golf Scramble is teeing off on Monday, Sept. 9, at the newly renovated Pleasant Valley Country Club just weeks before they host the top 54 players on the second stop of the PGA tour Champions Playoffs. The Golf Scramble brings together golfers of all skill levels for an unparalleled day of fresh air, sun and fun.
Each foursome will take their best shots while encountering fun games along the course, and don’t miss the party cart stocked with drinks and snacks to keep you going. The bourbon and wine pull is also back by popular demand! Last year, one lucky person went home with a $1,200 bottle of bourbon. Tickets are $100 per pull. Best of all, this year’s players will be able to test their accuracy and have the chance to win a hole-in-one prize, a 2024 Land Rover Defender, valued at $89,268!
RMHCAR-NLA is excited to have Marcy Woods-Robinson as event chair this year. “I have been volunteering with Ronald McDonald House Arkansas since 1995. In that time, I’ve been able to meet families, cook meals with my company, and take my friends and family on tours, so I have seen the benefits of this loving charity first hand” said Woods-Robinson. “Plus, I’ve gotten to be a part of the Golf tournament for over 30 years now! I am so excited to see friends and sponsors for another great year on the green. Raising money for this House to continue to provide for families is our top priority. I’m ready to tee off for The House!”
Additionally, Tyson Foods has signed on again to be the presenting sponsor. Since 2017, Tyson Foods has provided more than 36,000 meals for families staying at the Ronald McDonald House and Ronald McDonald Family Room at UAMS. “Families always have the opportunity to grab a warm meal or snack before or after a long day at the hospital thanks to the food provided by Tyson,” said Janell Mason, CEO.
The deadline for tournament registration is Sept. 4.
Following the Golf Scramble, RMHCAR-NLA will be rolling the dice at the third annual A Night in Vegas event. The excitement of the Las Vegas is coming back to The Hall on Sept. 19 for an evening filled with unique entertainment, delicious bites from local restaurants, live music, more casino games, raffle prizes including a special piece of jewelry from Sissy’s Log Cabin valued at more than $1,000, and the chance to make a positive impact on the lives of families of hospitalized children.
The 2024 Chair, Nichole Ostner McGeorge, director of marketing and events for Retirement Advisors of Arkansas, has been hard at work with the committee pulling together a big night of fun. This event is a Vegas casual, come-and-go party atmosphere where you can enjoy all the games and activities while mingling with your friends!
All proceeds from these events help provide a home away from home for more than 3,200 families each year. Some stay for a night, a month, or more than a year and all families stay free thanks to supporters like you!
