Him: Dr. David Manning

Native of: All over! My dad is a pastor, and we moved every few years. Conway has been the landing place for my family. We have extended family here, and all three Manning children went to the University of Central Arkansas and met spouses in the 501 area. 

Education: Bachelor of Science in biology, University of Central Arkansas; Doctor of optometry, Southern College of Optometry (Memphis).

Job: Owner/optometrist of Arkansas Eye Care Group in Maumelle. 

Parents: Mike and Leslie Manning. Both of my parents grew up in Conway and now reside in Chillicothe, Mo.

Community activities: Supporting the local schools in Maumelle through booster clubs; sponsorship for local Lions Club and chamber of commerce events. 

Hobbies/special interests: Reading, running, biking and golf.

How would you describe yourself: Visionary, compassionate and faithful.

Favorite restaurant in the 501: The Root Cafe in Little Rock.

Most enjoyed weekend activity: Spending time with my wife and taking the dogs to Murray Dog Park in Little Rock.

What do you love about living in the 501: The convenience of having everything we need close at hand.

 

Her: Amy Manning 

Where did you grow up: Conway

Education: Bachelor of Science in education with an emphasis in Spanish from Ouachita Baptist University.

Parents: Vicki and Milton Bull of Conway.

Community activities: Bible Study Fellowship leader. 

Hobbies/special interests: Reading, running and Pilates.

How would you describe yourself: Loyal, purposeful and diligent.

Most enjoyed weekend activity: I love spending time with David and our families, getting bagels at M
orningside Bagels in Maumelle and taking the dogs to Murray Dog Park.
What do you love about living in the 501: I love that we experience all four seasons here, and I love being close to so many wonderful trails and parks.

 

Them

City: Maumelle.

Church activities: Involved in our small group at The Summit Church in North Little Rock; supporting and involving our family in local and international missions.

How we met: We met in December 2009 at a Christmas party for a young professionals ministry called 501 at Fellowship Bible Church in Little Rock.

The proposal: We started dating in March 2010. Both of us prayed and waited a long time for each other, and we were 30 and 31 when we started dating. And seven weeks later, David proposed on May 15, 2010, on the campus of Ouachita Baptist University.

Wedding bells: We were married at Fellowship Bible Church in Conway on Nov. 13, 2010.

Pets: Two West Highland Terriers, Baxter and Piper.

Family activities enjoyed together: We love going for walks at Two Rivers Park and hiking local trails, as well as competing in 5K races together.
