Where did you grow up: Tunica, Miss. (pre-casinos)

Education: Bachelor of science degree in speech pathology, Delta State University; Master’s degree in speech pathology, Ole Miss.

Job: Homemaker.

Parents: Ed and Rosann Beach, Tunica.

Community activities: Conway Regional Health & Fitness Center (past board member), PTO member and volunteer in the Conway Public Schools.

Hobbies/special interests: Playing piano, reading, singing (in two bands: SubUrban Legend and The Loose Ends) and walking our dog.

How would you describe yourself: I try to stay positive and upbeat. I like to make people smile.

Favorite restaurant in the 501: Sashimi at The Village at Hendrix.

Most enjoyed weekend activity: Following our kids and their activities, junking and crafting, and traveling.

What do you love about living in the 501: Friendly community and a great place to raise a family. We enjoy everything it has to offer.

HIM   Brad Teague

Where did you grow up: Jackson, Miss.

Education: Bachelor’s and master’s degrees, Delta State; Ph.D., Ole Miss.

Job: UCA Athletics Director – 10 years.

Parents: Kay and Steve Boone, Jackson, Miss.; David and Mary Jane Teague, Lexington, S.C.

Community activities: Board of directors for the Conway Area Chamber of Commerce and Conway Corporation; airport committee.

Hobbies/special interests: Kids activities, UCA events, golf and basketball.

How would you describe yourself: I hope I am perceived as being friendly and open to everyone.

Favorite restaurant in the 501: I enjoy all those places that are UCA supporters and there are many!

Most enjoyed weekend activity: Kids events, UCA events and working around the house.

Favorite quote: “Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened.”

What do you love about living in the 501: Conway is a great city with many vibrant people and activities. The schools are great and there are plenty of things to do. Having three colleges and many major corporations add to the culture of the city. There are many restaurants and shops and the variety is very nice. We are very pleased we moved to Conway 10 years ago.

Church activities: St. Peter’s Episcopal Church.

How we met: In Student Government Association during her junior year and his senior year at Delta State University.

The proposal: Dinner at our favorite restaurant called Lusco’s in Greenwood, Miss. Once back in Cleveland, Miss., our friends had set up her apartment with flowers and wedding magazines with the ring. He got on his knee to propose and we are still together 23 years later!

Wedding bells: Saturday, March 12, 1994, at the First Baptist Church in Tunica.

Children: Son, Parker, 18, a freshman at UCA; daughter, Berris, 16, a junior at Conway High School; son, Cooper, 13, eighth grade at Conway Junior High; son, Hutson, 9, fourth grade at Jim Stone Elementary School.

Pets: Lucy, a 4-year-old Golden Doodle.

Family activities enjoyed together: Cards, board games, playing outside, movies, cooking and traveling.
