Conway Christian sets homecoming festivities

A variety of activities are on tap next week as Conway Christian School celebrates homecoming.

Named to the homecoming court are freshman Lyndi Dather, sophomore Autumn Jones, junior Anna Cain and seniors Sarah Nekonchuk, Andrea Howell, Jordan Williams, Allison Martin and Sarah Roberson.

Spirit Week events at the school include:

  • Monday – Each grade will be dressed in a different color. The junior varsity volleyball team will play at 4:30 p.m. against Harding Academy. The junior varsity football team will play at Mount Idea.
  • Tuesday – Students will observe “Duo Day” where two classmates will dress alike. The volleyball team will play Riverview at home at 5 p.m. The school will also host a movie night at 8 p.m. at the football field.
  • Wednesday – The school will observe “Disney Day” with students dressed as their favorite character. During chapel, the homecoming court will be presented and the queen elected. Results will be announced at 6:15 p.m. Friday during pre-game festivities.
  • Thursday – Students will observe “Hillbilly Day.” The junior varsity and varsity volleyball teams will play at St. Joseph School in Conway at 4:30 p.m. A powder puff football game is planned at 6:30 p.m.
  • Friday – The school will observe “Blue and White Day.” A pep rally is planned at 3 p.m. with the homecoming court and football player escorts presented. Homecoming court presentation is scheduled at 6:15 p.m., with the crowning of the queen. The CCS Eagles will take on the Mount Ida Lions at 7 p.m.

A homecoming “fifth quarter” will be held at 9 to 11:30 p.m. in the school gym.
