CCS Lady Eagles headed to state tourney

The Conway Christian Lady Eagle Golf Team secured a berth in the school’s second consecutive state golf tournament by finishing second in the district tournament on Monday afternoon.

Junior Leanna Sartain led the CCS team with a 57, followed by senior Hannah Cates and freshman Macey Vaught with a 71. Freshman Maddy Pelley rounded out the scoring with a 76.

"I’m proud of the girls and the way they competed today. Every stroke counted. Leanna’s been solid for us all year and really led the team today," said Jeremy Carson, head golf coach.

CCS finished behind St. Joseph, and finished ahead of Bigelow and Abundant Life. Quitman did not field a complete team.

The Lady Eagles will compete in the state tournament next week at Greystone Country Club in Cabot.
