CBC men drop contest to Williams Baptist

CONWAY – Playing for the final time at Centennial Soccer Park this season, Central Baptist College men’s soccer hosted the #14 Eagles of Williams Baptist University in an American Midwest Conference match this week. CBC (8-6-3, 1-4-2 AMC) allowed a goal in the first 26 minutes and couldn’t respond, allowing #14 WBU (13-0-2, 7-0-1 AMC) to clinch their first AMC title in program history.

CBC was able to get close to the WBU net once, with Daniel Pinkney penetrating the defense in the 52ndminute. Jasper Gadellaa was able to turn away three more chances that WBU had in the second half to keep the match close.

The Mustangs play their final match of the season on Saturday afternoon at Hannibal-LaGrange with kickoff scheduled for 1 p.m. CBC needs either a win or draw to assure themselves of a playoff spot.
