CBC adds five to 2022 softball recruits

Central Baptist College head softball coach Jordon Jones has announced the addition of five new signees to her 2022 recruiting class. These five new signees take the total recruiting class up to 12 for next year.

The five newest Mustangs are Madalyn Tubbs, Caroline Byers, Allie McWhorter, Madeline Brooks and Melanie Phillips. These five come into one of the largest recruiting classes in program history.

Tubbs comes to CBC from Olive Branch, Miss., where she played middle infield and outfield at Lewisburg High School. While at LHS, she was selected for the Gold Glove Award.

Byers comes to CBC from Kennett, Mo., where she played at Kennett High as a catcher. She was selected as an all-conference and all-district selection twice while earning second-team all-region honors as a freshman and academic all-state honors as a sophomore.

McWhorter is a catcher and first baseman from Warren. She is coming to CBC from Woodlawn High School in Cleveland County.

Brooks comes to CBC from Lewisville, Texas. An outfielder at Lewisville High School, Brooks was a four-year letter winner, a team captain and had a .453 career batting average and an on-base percentage of .500.

Phillips joins the Mustangs from Bloomfield, Mo. A 6-0 pitcher, Phillips previously played at Bloomfield High School. Join us in welcoming these five to the Mustang family as they will all be signing before the end of the month.
