Women’s Tennis falls to Angelo State

The Harding women’s tennis team closed out their weekend in Texas with a 6-1 loss to Angelo State in Plano, Texas on Sunday afternoon. The Lady Bisons are now 2-2 with an additional two wins over Junior College teams this season. 

The Rams opened the match by sweeping the doubles point. Madison Stafford and Alexia Zarate Valdez fell in a tight 7-6 set. 

The Rams would clinch the match by winning the first three singles matches. Sofia Sarmiento Ruiz grabbed the lone point for the Lady Bisons winning her sixth match of the season 7-4, 6-3 at No. 5 singles. 

The Lady Bisons will return to Texas this weekend as they take on Lubbock Christian on Friday beginning at 1 p.m.
