Women’s golf takes 14th at Emerald Coast Classic

The Harding women’s golf team posted a 28-over 312 in Round 3 of the Emerald Coast Classic in Destin, Fla., on Tuesday and jumped two spots up the leaderboard to finish at 106-over 958. Henderson State took home the team title with a score of 28-over 880. 

Alicia Martinez led the Lady Bisons with 17-over 230 and a tied-for 25th finish. Martinez’s 3-over 74 on Tuesday was her lowest of the tournament. Brenda Sanchez shot a 7-over 78 on Tuesday and finished the tournament tied for 32nd at 22-over 235.

Pilar Martinez jumped six spots on Tuesday after her best round of the tournament, 8-over 79, gave her a 63rd-place finish at 31-over 244. Madeleine Wilson posted her best round, shooting a 10-over 81 and finished tied for 72nd at 36-over 249. Kodie Winnings was the final Lady Bison, finishing in 79th at 43-over 256.

The Lady Bisons will now take over a month off to prepare for the GAC Championships on April 23-25 in Hot Springs.
