Training set for Conway Kids Triathlon

Registration is now open for a triathlon training camp for kids at the Conway Regional Health and Fitness Center.

The Conway Kids Triathlon, presented by First Security Bank, is a Conway tradition in its 22nd year. It will be held at 8 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, at Hendrix College. Triathlon registration is open and is $30 until Wednesday, Aug. 1, when it will go up to $35. For more information, go to ConwayKidsTri.com.

The camp prepares young people to successfully race in the Conway triathlon, scheduled Saturday, Aug. 10, at Hendrix College.

The camp is open to all kids ages 6 to 15.

This fun and interactive camp involves sport specific training, but also focuses on helping young people practice the swim to bike and bike to run transitions under the supervision of USA Triathlete team member and Conway Regional Fitness Specialist Erika Setzler.

There are two sessions to choose from (both from 9 to 10:30 a.m.):

Monday and Wednesday, July 29 and 31 and Aug. 5 and 7

Tuesday and Thursday, July 30 and Aug. 1 and Aug. 6 and 8

There are limited spots available in each session. Participants are not allowed to mix days.

For fitness center members, the cost is $30 per child. For non-members, it is $35 per child.

For more information, contact Erika Setzler at 501.450.9292, ext. 313 or email erika.setzler@conwayregional.org.
