18 May 2016 St. Joseph awarded $2,000 from Kids Run Arkansas
St. Joseph School was recently awarded $2,000 by the Conway Regional Health and Fitness Center for the school’s participation in the annual Kids Run Arkansas.
The event was held April 15 at Conway’s Laurel Park. The 1- and 3-mile fun run/walk, for kids of all ages, promotes physical activity and wellness for children and youth in Central Arkansas.
The cash prize goes to the school or organization having the largest number of participants. St. Joseph had 301 runners out of the 1,000 or more who entered. It marked the sixth time St. Joseph has won the event.
Physical education teacher Karen Vandivere organized St. Joseph’s involvement. She expects the money will go toward purchasing new soccer nets and other athletic equipment.
