Soaring Wings Half Marathon raises $60,000

Turnout for this year’s Braswell and Son Soaring Wings Half Marathon was at an all-time high, with more than 1,800 registrations representing more than 30 states – from California to New York.

Johnathan Cherono of Little Rock won the overall race in a time of 1:15:56.

Leah Thorvilson, also of Little Rock, won the women’s division in a time of 1:17:45. (For full results and age group winners, visit swhalf.com.)

In all, the half marathon raised $60,000 for the ranch.

The 2012 Braswell and Son Soaring Wings Half Marathon will be held on Saturday, Oct. 27.

The race registration limit will be increased to 2,000 runners, and organizers expect to sell out early.

Registration for the 2012 race opened Dec. 1.
