Plans announced for PRCA Rodeo

The Central Arkansas PRCA committee is getting ready for its sixth PRCA Rodeo at 7 p.m. Friday, April 4, and Saturday, April 5, at Back Achers Ranch in Conway.

Attendance the last few years has been very good and those attending have proclaimed it “great family entertainment at affordable prices.” It has also been ranked the third best PRCA Rodeo in Arkansas behind Fort Smith and Springdale.

This year’s stock contractor will be Andrews Rodeo Co. Sammy and James Andrews have been producing rodeos for more than 26 years and have received many awards for the stock that they bring to their rodeos.

Also this year there will be two specialty acts. From RFD TV and their show, “Never Quit,” the All American Cowgirl Chicks will perform both nights. The Cowgirls are known as some of the top hands in the horse business today. Wearing the patriotic colors of red, white and blue, this equestrian drill team exemplifies the true meaning of their western heritage as they entertain crowds while riding for a cure for cancer. They will be performing an aggressive routine to upbeat music.

PRCA Rodeo Clown Gizmo McCracken will also perform throughout the rodeo both nights. Gizmo has been entertaining crowds for 22 years and has traveled all over the United States and Canada. Gizmo takes pride that his act features good, clean, family-style comedy. From Missouri, he started his career as a bullfighter and moved into stand-up comedy in Branson, Mo.

Both of these acts will be available for autographs and will be making appearances around Conway the week of the rodeo.

The Central Arkansas PRCA is once again proud to be partnering with Wounded Warrior of Arkansas through the Marine Corps League of Arkansas. Some of the money raised from the rodeo will help Arkansas soldiers as they readjust to life back home.
