07 May 2025 NPC hosts NJCAA Region 2 Baseball Tournament
HOT SPRINGS — National Park College (NPC) has been selected to host the upcoming National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region 2 Baseball Tournament, scheduled for May 7–11 at Majestic Park in Hot Springs — the first time the tournament will be played in Arkansas.

The Nighthawks will compete alongside seven other colleges from Arkansas and Oklahoma for a shot at the NJCAA Region 2 title. Representing Arkansas are South Arkansas College (El Dorado), Arkansas State University-Mountain Home (Mountain Home) and Southeast Arkansas College (Pine Bluff). Oklahoma teams include Northern Oklahoma College-Tonkawa, Northern Oklahoma College-Enid, Murray State College (Tishomingo) and Carl Albert State College (Poteau).
“We’re proud to bring the Region 2 Tournament to Arkansas for the first time,” said Coach Rich Thompson, athletic director at NPC. “It’s not only a win for our team and fans, but a great opportunity to showcase Hot Springs as a host for college athletics.”
The winner of the tournament will advance to the NJCAA South Central District Championship, where they will face the Region 1 champion from Arizona. The district winner will qualify for the NJCAA Division II World Series in Enid, Oklahoma, later in May.
NPC opened the double-elimination tournament against Northern Oklahoma College-Enid on May 7. Each game of the tournament will be streamed live on the Nighthawk Network.
