Mustangs finish second at CBC Invitational

CABOT — Looking to move up one spot, Central Baptist College men’s golf teed off the final round of the CBC Invitational on Tuesday at Cypress Creek Golf Course needing to erase a 14 shot deficit. The Mustangs shot the second best round of the day at 298, but it wasn’t enough to take down the winners from USAO.

Individually, Kitsakon Jairak closed with a 71 to finish in a tie for seventh with a three-round score of 223. Emmanuel LaBeur closed with a 77 to finish at 225 while Jakub Slapal also finished with a 77 to shoot 228, Preston Nestorenko, who competed as an individual, shot a 76 to finish with a 231, one shot ahead of Leopold Maes, who closed with a 73. Suraprat Pareepart shot 80 to finish at 246 and Paul Gomez, the other individual competitor, improved to a 76 to finish at 248.

The Mustangs are in West Point, Miss., next week for the Blue Mountain Christian Spring Classic at Old Waverly Golf Club.
