Mustangs tie for fifth at tourney

West Point, Miss. – Entering the final round 12 shots off the lead, Central Baptist College men’s golf teed off on Tuesday in the final round of the Blue Mountain Spring Classic at the Mossy Oak Golf Course looking for their third straight tournament win. CBC improved their score by eight strokes, closing with a 308 to finish with a 624 in a tie for fifth, 22 shots behind the champions, Missouri Baptist.

Individually, Jakub Slapal and Leopold Maes both finished in a tie for ninth with an overall score of 154 after Slapal closed with a 77 and Maes shot a final round 75. Paul Gomez shot a final round 78 to finish with a 156 while Suraprat Pareepart closed with a 78 for an overall score of 160 and Kitsakon Jairak shot a final round 82 to close with a 171.

The Mustangs are back on the course on April 3 and 4 in Mountain Home at Big Creek for the Williams Baptist Spring Classic.

CBC Women

West Point, Miss. – Central Baptist College women’s golf teed off Tuesday in the final round of the Blue Mountain Spring Classic. Alyssa Hagewood, Abby Kirby and Laney Crutchfield all improved their score on the final day.

Hagewood moved up three spots in the standings after closing with an 85 to finish with a 173 in a tie for 14th. Kirby shot a final round 101 to finish at 207 and Crutchfield closed with a 99 to finish with a 208.

The Mustangs are back on the course for the Williams Baptist Spring Classic on April 3 and 4 in Mountain Home at Big Springs.
