Mustangs drop tri-dual with Cumberland and Midway

Lebanon, Tenn. – Competing for the final time in 2020, Central Baptist College wrestling was on the mat recently for a tri-dual against Cumberland University and Midway University hosted by CU. CBC dropped both ends of the tri-dual, 54-0 to CU and 54-3 to MU.

Ben Freeman, who was celebrating his birthday, scored the only points of the afternoon for the Mustangs, earning an 8-5 decision over Daylon Stafford of Midway at 157 pounds. All the other competitors for CBC ended up dropping their bouts, despite Freeman and Alejandro Mas both scoring against Cumberland.

Next up for the wrestling team will be a quad-dual on Jan. 8 at Reddin Fieldhouse, the day before the 2021 CBC Invitational. The Mustangs will wrestle Oklahoma Wesleyan, Williams Baptist, Texas Wesleyan and Richland College that day and the matches will begin at 9 a.m. For more information about wrestling and to keep up with the Mustangs, be sure to like and follow @gocbcmustangs on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram and find CBC Athletics on YouTube.
