Kidsfest scheduled April 6

Kidsfest – which features a run and music festival – is planned Saturday, April 6, in Downtown Conway.

The event starts at the Faulkner County Courthouse with a 5K fun run for all ages (chip timers available) and a 1K Superhero Race for kids 10 and under (parents can run too).

After the races the event moves to Simon Park where the awards ceremony and a costume parade take place on stage.

A children’s music festival will follow with choirs, dance teams, baton twirlers, gymnasts and cheerleaders from throughout Faulkner County.

Simon Park is filled with activities for kids of all ages, including bounce house, face painting, arts and crafts, food, beverages and more. All park activities are free but vendors may charge or request a donation for food, drinks and merchandise.

The theme of the event is “All kids need a hero. Abused kids need a superhero.”

Kidsfest benefits the Children’s Advocacy Alliance — a partnership of CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) of the 20th Judicial Disitrct and the Central Arkansas Children’s Advocacy Center.
