Henderson State scoring run downs Harding

SEARCY — Harding sophomore Rylie Marshall poured in a career-high 23 points and connected on four 3-pointers, but Henderson State made 14 of its last 19 shots and defeated the Bisons 78-65 on Dec. 14 in Great American Conference men’s basketball action at Rhodes-Reaves Field House.

Harding dropped to 5-5 overall and 2-2 in the GAC. The Bisons are off until they return to conference play at home against Southeastern Oklahoma on Thursday, January 4.

Harding led 34-32 with 16:13 left, but Henderson State orchestrated a pivotal eight-point scoring streak, seizing control and maintaining their advantage for the remainder of the game. Despite a 3-pointer by Marshall narrowing the gap to two points at 46-44 with 11:02 left, Henderson State’s sharpshooting down the stretch secured the victory for the Reddies.
