14 Jan 2026 Harding Men’s Tennis ranked No. 24
SEARCY — The Harding University men’s tennis team will begin its 2026 spring campaign ranked among the nation’s best, checking in at No. 24 in the ITA Collegiate Tennis Division II National Team Rankings released Wednesday, Jan. 14.

This initial spring ranking marks the first for the Bisons under new head coach Craig Kirchgessner, who took the helm in June 2025.
The national recognition follows a stellar fall season that saw the Bisons display significant depth in both singles and doubles. The team was bolstered by the performance of seniors Adrian Solorzano and Cian Mikkelsen, who surged to a No. 4 national ranking in doubles during the fall—the highest doubles ranking in the program’s recent history. The duo captured the ITA Central Regional doubles championship and the Flight 1 title at the GAC Individual Championships in October.
Harding’s strength is not limited to its top court. The Bisons entered the winter break with four players holding regional or national singles rankings. Solorzano, a senior from Morelia, Mexico, secured a top-10 national singles ranking in the fall, while teammates Mikkelsen, fifth-year senior Luis Agullo, and senior Edoardo D’Arrigo also earned recognition for their performances.
The Bisons also saw emerging talent contribute to their preseason success. In the fall GAC Individual Championships, freshman Jan Alexander Has captured the Flight 4 singles title, defeating teammate Ignacio De Lorenzo in an all-Harding final, showcasing the depth Kirchgessner has at his disposal.
Defending national champion Barry University topped the poll at No. 1, followed by Valdosta State, Flagler, West Florida, and Lubbock Christian rounding out the top five. Harding will look to defend its ranking and build momentum when they open the spring dual match season on Saturday, Jan. 31. The Bisons are scheduled to host a doubleheader in Conway, Ark., facing Hendrix College at 8 a.m. and John Brown University at 12 p.m.
