Oct 21, 2015 Golf tourney planned for Searcy K-LIFE
Searcy K-LIFE will host its sixth annual Benefit Golf Tournament on Friday, Oct. 30. The 4-man scramble will take place on the Course at River Oaks, 1 Golf Course Dr., with lunch at 11:30 a.m. and a shotgun start at 12:30 p.m.
Newly-elected K-LIFE Board President Richard Stafford is excited for the opportunity to lead the board. His goal for the upcoming term is to see K-LIFE grow like never before this year and in years to come.
“K-LIFE is so important to youth and families in our community,” he said. “Having extra time every week at club and small groups supplements their church’s youth group. K-LIFE also gives kids who may not be involved in church at all a place to feel comfortable. That’s vital for the kids in our community to build positive relationships to hold them accountable to be introduced to the Gospel of Jesus Christ and grow deeper in their relationship with Him.”
As a non-denominational Christian ministry, K-LIFE offers discipleship and fellowship for local youth from fifth through 12th grades. Activities include a weekly club meeting, small group Bible studies, monthly events and mission trips; the ministry even offers one-on-one mentoring for students to provide them with extra encouragement.
“The golf tournament is the first of other fundraisers we’ll have throughout the year,” Stafford added. “Our entire annual operating budget comes solely through private donations and fundraisers like the golf tournament. This tournament has always been our largest fundraiser and gives us a huge boost at the beginning of our year to keep the doors of K-LIFE open to continue reaching the kids of Searcy for Christ. We hope that the community will come out to enjoy a round of golf and a great fall afternoon to help support our mission and ministry for K-LIFE to reach even more lives in the future.”
Searcy K-LIFE, 810 Elm St., has been in its current location next door to the Searcy High School Lions Stadium for about three years.
