THEM

City: Conway.

Church activities: St. Joseph Church.

How we met: We were going to be set up on a blind date by my sister, Erika Smith, and then I decided I wanted to meet him in person, so I unexpectedly popped by his office in Little Rock to meet him. We visited for a little while and then decided we would go on a date in a couple of weeks. Turns out, he called me the next day, and that night we went to U.S. Pizza Co.

The proposal: Christmas Eve 2000 he gave me a pair of Amy Jo Gladstone slippers from his mom’s shoe salon and told me to try them on. I tried on the left slipper and said, sorry, they are too small, and he said please try on the other several times before I would, and when I did, a ring fell out on the floor with the paper stuffing. He was so nervous, but got down on his knee and proposed. He said he went to Clinton earlier in the week to ask my dad if he could marry me, and my dad asked him what he was going to do if I said no. Jason replied he was going to pawn my ring and buy a four-wheeler.
