Clark and Akins’ awards are the 100th and 101st CoSIDA/CSC Academic All-America honors since Harding football’s Jeff Earnhart earned its first in 1978.

Clark, an accounting major from Hoover, Alabama, has a 3.98 GPA. This season, she earned her second outdoor All-America honor with a 12th-place finish at nationals. Clark also claimed her third straight Great American Conference javelin title.

Akins is a graduate student with a perfect 4.00 GPA as a clinical mental health council major. She is a native of Cumming, Georgia.

During the indoor season, Akins ran the 400 meters in 56.36 seconds, an NCAA provisional time that moved her into second all-time on Harding’s career performers list in the 400.

Akins is Harding’s school record holder in the outdoor long jump, but she missed most of the 2023 outdoor season with an injury.
