“I am excited to appoint Duffy to this key leadership position,” said CBC President Dr. Jeremy Langley “He is widely respected on the CBC campus and among the churches of the Baptist Missionary Association. His dedication to Christ-centered education and his ability to connect with donors, churches and alumni make him uniquely qualified to help advance our mission.”

Guyton has served at CBC since 2017 when he joined the institution as Director of Church Relations and as the pitching coach for the CBC Mustangs baseball program. Prior to joining CBC, he served as Chief Development Officer and Dean of Admissions at Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary in Cordova, Tennessee.

“It is both a great honor and deeply humbling to be considered for this position,” Guyton said. “With 33 years of multifaceted ministry experience – ranging from local church leadership to higher education administration – my heart continues to beat for the people of God and His church. I am passionate about leading others in the area of biblical generosity, grounded in respect, honor, and through a heart of shepherding.”

A former minor league pitcher with the St. Louis Cardinal organization, Guyton began his work in higher education at Dallas Baptist University where he served as a coach and Director of Athletic Fundraising. He has served churches in Arkansas, Tennessee, Mississippi, and Texas in various pastoral roles.

Guyton is also involved in several Conway-area ministries. He serves as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes of Faulkner County and teaches a weekly Bible class at Renewal Ranch Ministries. He was the director of Conway Ministerial Alliance Pastors Association from 2017-2021.

A native of West Monroe, La., Guyton earned a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education and a Master of Education in Higher Education from Dallas Baptist University. He later earned a Master of Divinity from Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary.

Guyton and his wife, Dawn, reside in Conway where they are active members of Central Baptist Church. The couple has four adult sons, all of whom are CBC alumni. “I will always be grateful to Bro. Terry Kimbrow for first allowing us to be part of this incredible institution,” Guyton added. “It is equally inspiring to step into a new chapter with Dr. Langley and be part of the exciting future ahead.”
