17 Mar 2021 Burns voted SAA NOY; Jenkins named to All-SAA second team

ATLANTA – Hendrix guard Kennedi Burns has been voted the Southern Athletic Association (SAA) Newcomer of the Year, the league office announced Tuesday. Warriors forward Kessie Jenkins was named to the All-SAA second team.

Burns, also an honorable mention pick, ranked fifth in the league in scoring per game (13.8). She scored in double figures nine times, including seven-straight games to end the season, and topped the 20-point mark twice.

Burns also finished 15th in the SAA in rebounds per game (5.3). Burns ranked third in free throw percentage (.768).

Jenkins was eighth in the league in rebounds per game (5.9). She tied for 11th in scoring per game (10.5). Jenkins scored in double figures seven times, including four of the final five contests.
