Bisons finish seventh at Houston Classic

The Harding men’s golf team shot a 10-over 298 in Round 3 on Tuesday and finished the Houston Classic at 33-over 897 and finished in seventh place. Cameron took home the team title, shooting an 8-under 856 for the tournament. 

Manuel Cue Vargas sank 14 pars on Tuesday and finished with a 3-over 75 to tie for 17th at 5-over 221. Vargas’ 40 pars for the tournament were the third highest total. Caleb Nichols was the lone individual competitor for Harding and finished the tournament with a 7-over 223 and tied for 22nd. Sam Tandy and Jose Peralta both finished tied for 32nd with 9-over 225. Peralta posted a 3-over 75 and Tandy shot 6-over 78 in Round 3. Jake Croshaw was one of the biggest movers on the leaderboard on Tuesday, jumping 26 spots to tie for 37th after shooting a 2-under 70. Leo Maciejeck finished in 81st with a 26-over 242.

The Bisons will travel to Edmond, Oklahoma next week (February 20-21) and participate in the UCO Classic at the Rose Creek Country Club.
