Bison comeback falls short at Arkansas-Monticello

MONTICELLO — The Harding men’s basketball team got within eight in the second half but Arkansas-Monticello went on to win 71-57 in Great American Conference action.

Harding falls to 3-6 overall and 1-2 in the GAC.

Arkansas-Monticello improves to 6-3 on the season and 2-1 in the GAC.

The Weevils shot 51.0 percent from the field making 26-of-51 shots. Josh Williams led Arkansas-Monticello with 15 points, making 6-of-10 from the field.

Taylor Currie led all scoring with 19 points for Harding making 8-of-13 shots and also grabbed eight rebounds. Romen Martin made 6-of-7 from the free throw line and ended with 16 points. Ramiro Santiago also added 11 points.

The Bisons will be back in action at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 18, when they host Henderson State at the Rhodes-Reaves House.
