Parish, a multiple-time Junior Olympic qualifier and winner of the Arkansas CMP 3×20 Air Rifle Match in 2024, 2025 and 2026, plans to major in exercise science this fall. She is one of three signees announced last week by the Eagles’ head rifle coach Soren Butler.

“I’ve been able to follow Chloe a few years now through the recruitment process and am excited to have her join the team,” Butler said. “She has seen huge progress in her training this year and has had some great showings at recent matches. I think she will be a great addition to the team.”

Parish, 18, has been a member of Team Winning Solutions, coached by Olympic Silver Medalist Lucas Kozeniesky, and the Central Arkansas Hawkeyes, coached by Bryan Herburger. In January, she won first and third place in the junior women’s Winter Grand Prix in Finland and first place in the Air Nationals in Camp Perry, Ohio.

The Eagles’ rifle season typically begins in September or October.

Parish has been able to pursue her sports career thanks to the ARVA’s Flex Program, designed for students who need adaptable learning schedules to pursue their passions outside of school while continuing their academic studies. Taking advantage of ARVA’s extended support hours and the ability to work at her own pace, Parish was able to maintain a rigorous academic schedule while dedicating herself to rifle.

ARVA is also recognized by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), which means that ARVA courses meet the NCAA’s high academic standards, preparing student-athletes for the rigor of college coursework and athletic competition. To achieve NCAA eligibility, student-athletes must graduate from high school, complete approved core courses with a minimum GPA, earn qualifying SAT or ACT scores, and receive amateurism certification from the NCAA Eligibility Center. ARVA’s approved courses help students like Parish meet those criteria while pursuing athletic goals.

Arkansas Virtual Academy, a K12-powered online school, has been open since 2003. The school has more than 6,500 students representing all 75 counties.
