Anglers Expo, outdoor show scheduled at Heber Springs

The Rotary Club of Cleburne County will host its Annual Anglers Expo & Outdoor Show on Friday, March 2, and Saturday, March 3, at the Heber Springs Community Center. 

It will feature a variety of vendors, special events and displays in fishing, hunting, camping and general outdoor activities. 

There will also be music and a chili cookoff.  Proceeds will be used for college scholarships for high school seniors graduating in May.

Chili cooks can participate one of the three chili categories. One is the “pro” category where the cooks will prepare onsite “traditional red chili.” This category is sanctioned by ICS and the winner may qualify for the World Championship Chili Cook-off. The other two chili categories are the “people’s choice chili” and “nexgen”/youth chili. These chilis may be prepared at home and brought to the event. The public samples and votes for the “people’s choice chili.” 

The youth chili is limited to cooks ages 17 and younger and the judging committee will determine the top three chilis. Adult supervision is required, but no adult participation. 

Cash prizes will be awarded totaling more than $1,800 for first, second and third in all categories. Visit ziggypepper.com for more information on the cookoff.
