501 LIFE to be featured during Channel 4 segment

The January edition of 501 LIFE will be highlighted on KARK Channel 4 during the 12:30 p.m. show on Tuesday, Dec. 19.

Each month, 501 LIFE co-publisher and editor Sonja Keith presents information about the current edition as it hits the streets.

“As we prepare to say goodbye to 2017 and usher in a new year, 501 LIFE is all about ‘Celebrating firsts’ in this month’s edition. The first of the year is an exciting time as it represents something new and fresh. That same type of excitement is found in other firsts – the first day of school, that first car, a first job, etc.

“With the first of a new year, we thought it would be interesting to look at memorable ‘firsts,’ and asked members of our editorial boards for their ideas and suggestions. Our path led to some really sweet stories about first dates that have taken place at the Rialto Theater in Downtown Searcy.”

The exterior of the Rialto was recently restored and is featured in the Mike Kemp photo on the cover of this issue. “We were delighted to visit with Dianne and Mike Hutsell as they shared their special memories of the Rialto, where they went on their first date. The theater still holds a special place in their hearts and they’ve shared it not only with their children but now their grandchildren. We are thankful they are sharing their story with 501 LIFE, too.”

The January issue also features two special sections:

  • Women in business – 501 LIFE celebrates eight women who were recently honored with Conway Area Chamber of Commerce Women in Business Award, including Diamond Achievement Award recipient Lori Ross.
  • 501 Basketball Team – 501 LIFE is proud to present the 2017-18 edition of its 501 Basketball Team which boasts 37 honorees, representing some of the best student-athletes the 501 has to offer — both on and off the court. The team is sponsored by Conway Ortho and Sports Medicine, Conway Regional Health System and First Security Bank.

In addition to the live KARK broadcast, the 501 LIFE segment can be seen on the station’s website – arkansasmatters.com. For more information on this month’s issue, visit 501lifemag.com.
