Wooster Elementary receives LEED plaque

Wooster Elementary School recently received its LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) silver plaque in recognition of the Greenbrier School District’s “green” efforts in construction of the new school.

Principal Lenett Thrasher welcomed students and guests to the ceremony, which featured a performance by the Wooster Elementary Choir under the direction of Suzanne Freyaldenhoven.

Superintendent Scott Spainhour introduced the guest speaker, Dr. Tom Kimbrell, Arkansas Commissioner of Education, who congratulated the school on the LEED recognition and challenged students to continue pursuing academic excellence.
Jim Chidester, state chapter president of U.S. Green Building Council, presented the plaque.

A reception, sponsored by Trane, followed the ceremony.
