White County breaks ground on new library

White County Regional Library System hosted a groundbreaking ceremony for the Janett & Larry Crain Memorial Library on Aug 15.

The new Searcy Library will feature a Teen Library and a Children’s Program Room, catering to the educational and recreational needs of young readers. Additionally, it will include a Small Business and Career Center, offering resources and guidance for entrepreneurs and job seekers, further supporting the economic growth of the city.

In recognition of the increasing demand for convenience and accessibility, the library will also house a U.S. Passport Acceptance Facility, allowing residents to conveniently handle their travel documentation needs. Furthermore, an Exhibition Gallery will showcase local talent and traveling exhibits.

The new facility will provide study and meeting rooms to facilitate collaborative learning and host community gatherings, while a coffee shop will offer a welcoming space for patrons to socialize and connect. Moreover, an outdoor pavilion and drive thru windows will enhance the overall convenience and accessibility for library visitors.
