UCA’s Reynolds to start season with Sara Evans performance

Sara Evans will perform at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 20, at Reynolds Performance Hall at the University of Central Arkansas.

Country music singer and songwriter Sara Evans will headline the 20th season of Reynolds Performance Hall at the University of Central Arkansas, with a concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 20. The intimate evening will consist of a performance by Evans, along with two additional musicians and a background vocalist.

Evans has had five No. 1 singles, including “Suds in the Bucket,” “A Real Fine Place to Start,” “No Place That Far” and “A Little Bit Stronger,” the title track of her 2011 album “Stronger.” She has sold millions of records, won the Academy of Country Music’s Top Female Vocalist Award and claimed a Country Music Association trophy for her signature song, “Born To Fly.” Evans also played herself on the popular dramatic series “Nashville” and competed on ABC’s long-running hit “Dancing with the Stars.”

With the release of her eighth studio album, “Words,” she demonstrates that she’s still willing to leap into the unknown, taking greater control of her career and calling the shots. “Words” is the first project on Evans’ label, Born To Fly Records, named after that CMA-winning signature song, which celebrated risk and adventure. Much is familiar about “Words.” Evans’ voice is warm and strong, the songs are authentic and memorable, and the actual words themselves resonate with the realities of everyday life.

“Sara Evans is a great way to kick off our 20th season,” said Director of Reynolds Performance Hall Amanda Horton. “She is a soulful singer with a powerful voice that is sure to amaze our audience.”
