UACCM plans groundbreaking for workforce training center

The University of Arkansas Community College in Morrilton will break ground on the new Workforce Training Center at 10 a.m. Friday, April 29. The groundbreaking will take place at 112 Timberwolf Drive, in the west parking lot of the University Center.

All are invited to attend and asked to park in the lots south and north of the University Center. In the event of inclement weather, the ceremony will be held in the Fine Arts Auditorium.

The groundbreaking ceremony marks the beginning of construction on the facility. The Workforce Training Center is expected to be completed in 18-24 months after construction begins. It will allow for the expansion of technical and community education, specialized industry training and certification courses, and pre-employment training academies. These programs have the potential to serve approximately 3,000 unique individuals in the first year.

The facility is being funded through the UACCM Foundation’s Give Meaning Campaign. UACCM has raised approximately $2.5 million to support in the construction of the center.

This will be the largest construction project in the college’s 53-year history.
