Toad Suck Daze Run proceeds presented to local non-profits

Proceeds from the 32nd annual Toad Suck Daze 5K/10K Run were recently presented by the Conway Kiwanis Club to local non-profits.

Donations totaling $21,000 were given to the Boys and Girls Club of Faulkner County, CAPCA-Headstart, the Children’s Advocacy Alliance, the Conway Interfaith Clinic, Help for Abuse Victims in Emergency Need (HAVEN), Junior Auxiliary of Conway, Braves Field and Conway High School (for track resurfacing).

The run drew 1,116 registrants for the annual event, held at John McConnell Stadium at Conway High School. It included a 10K Run (RRCA Grand Prix/ State Championship Race), 5K Run, 5K Fun Walk and Tadpole Trot races.

St. Joseph had the largest percentage of participants (based on enrollment) in the Tadpole Trot. The winning school is presented with a traveling trophy and $200 for its physical education department.

Over the years, the race has raised more than $350,000 for local charities.

The Conway Kiwanis Club is the main organizer of the event, which is supported by the Conway Running Club and Conway Convention & Visitors Bureau.

Major sponsors are TLC Pediatrics, AR Care, Academy Sports, Arkansas Eye Care Group, Conway Corporation, Kohl’s, Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, Nabholz Client Services, Regions, Smith Ford and The Sporty Runner.
