The White County Community Band – Take Two

The White County Community Band, under the direction of retired 34-year veteran Trey Reely, will begin its second season Monday, May 8, in the Harding University band room in Searcy at 7 p.m. The rehearsal will conclude at 8:30 pm.

In its inaugural season in 2022, the group boasted 63 members. There are currently members from not only Searcy, but Rose Bud, Pangburn, Bald Knob, Bradford, Kensett, Judsonia, and Beebe. The band also has members from outside the county who drive from Wynne, Cabot, and Malvern.

The band will practice and perform a mix of popular music, marches and patriotic selections. The group practices on Monday nights and will have four performances with the final one being Tuesday, July 4th at the Searcy Events Center during Searcy’s United We Stand 4th of July celebration. One does not have to be at every practice or performance to participate.

Interested parties should like and follow the White County Community Band Facebook page for rehearsal announcements. Adults of all ages and experience are welcome; there are two members this year who are in their 80s! High school students in grades 11-12 can join if they are proficient on their instrument and recommended by their band director. All questions about the WCCB can be sent to Trey Reely at [email protected].
