The Locals releases March schedule

The Locals — a new coffee shop, community hub and retail space for local products — has released its March schedule of events.

The establishment, located at 1024 Van Ronkle St. in Downtown Conway, features community talents, hosts events and connects people with local projects and organizations. It also offers shared office space. The Locals is a program of La Lucha Space, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.

The March calendar:

Conway Community Meditation: 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 4. Every Tuesday afternoon. Participate in this time of unifying harmony with fellow Conway residents. All are welcome.

AR Health Connector Workshop: 4 p.m. Thursday, March 6. Do you have questions about getting insurance in Arkansas? This workshop is for you! Stop by to have your questions about new insurance options answered.

Spanish Practice Group: 4 p.m. Friday, March 7. Every Friday afternoon. Join other Spanish speaking enthusiasts in conversation.

Shillelaghs & Shenanigans: 7 p.m. Saturday, March 8. Hailing from Conway and Russellville, this folk-rock collective will be playing original Celtic music. Free and open to the public.

WordPress Conway: 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 11. Second Tuesday of every month.  If you use WordPress or want to learn more about it, this Central Arkansas group can help you with any questions or issues you may have.

Simply Said Storytelling: 6 p.m. Thursday, March 20. Simply Said is an informal, open mic storytelling time. Come share your story, no notes, 5 minutes max. This month’s theme: Failed New Year’s Resolutions.

Fiber Circle: 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 26. Last Wednesday of every month. Knit? Crochet? Stitch? Any craft is welcome! Come down and work on your own project, or help fellow craftivist with theirs.

Weaving Workshop: 1 p.m. Saturday, March 29. Local artist and school teacher Katy O’Neal will demonstrate how to weave with her homemade loom. Come learn the basics of weaving, by hand and with a loom. Children welcome.
