24 Feb 2018 ‘The Buddy Holly Story’ planned March 29 at UCA
“Buddy – The Buddy Holly Story” is coming to Reynolds Performance Hall at the University of Central Arkansas.
The performance is scheduled 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 29.
“Buddy” tells the tale of the musical icon’s rise to fame and his final legendary performance at the Surf Ballroom in Clear Lake, Iowa, before his tragic and untimely death at the age of 22. In 18 short months, the Texas-born boy revolutionized the face of contemporary music, influencing everyone from The Beatles to Bruce Springsteen.
Boasting a multi-talented cast, together they present two terrific hours of music with more than 20 of Holly’s greatest hits, including the timeless classics “That’ll Be The Day,” “Peggy Sue,” “Oh Boy” and “Rave On.”
With the Big Bopper’s “Chantilly Lace” and Ritchie Valens’ “La Bamba” completing a stellar musical line-up, “Buddy” is a not to be missed evening of feel-good family entertainment.
“We don’t usually add performances to our schedule mid-season, but a portion of the ticket sales will go to supporting Main Stage, our educational series,” said Reynolds Director Amanda Horton. “We couldn’t pass up the opportunity to bring a high-quality, rocking show to Reynolds and raise money for students to learn from and enjoy the arts.”
Tickets range from $30-$40 for the general public and $10 for students and children. Call UCA Ticket Central at 501.450.3265 between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, or toll free from anywhere in Arkansas at 1.866.810.0012 or visit uca.edu/reynolds.
