Tickets on sale now for Dec. 2 Cattle Baron’s Ball

Little Rock — The Cattle Baron’s Ball will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 2, at Heifer International in downtown Little Rock. Pull out your best boots and scoot on down after work for the American Cancer Society’s long anticipated Cattle Baron’s Ball. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. Tickets and sponsorships for this fun-filled fundraising event are available at cattlebaronsarkansas.com

Guests can expect live music from Mary Heather and the Sinners, rodeo midway-style games, as well as great food and drink. Dr. Omar Atiq will be honored for his generosity in forgiving more than $650,000 in cancer patient debt. Chair Lauren McCullough will serve as master of ceremonies.

“We are here to help some of our most vulnerable citizens and hope that on December 2, Central Arkansans will show off their generosity and support our efforts to help fund a cure and make life better for those facing cancer,” said Faith Gonzales, associate director of the organization.

Each year, this unique event celebrates the strides forward in the fight against cancer. It is a casual, western-themed evening with music, food, drinks, games, and more. During the event, the ACS of Arkansas will honorDr. Omar Atiq, an Oncologist with UAMS, who gained international attention after forgiving more than $600,000 in medical debt for cancer patients at his Pine Bluff clinic. Actress and television host Lauren McCullough will serve as master of ceremonies, as well as this year’s event chair. McCullough has a personal connection to cancer having lost her father to the disease in 2017.
“Our big fund-a-need push at this event is to raise money for Arkansas’ statewide Community Transportation Grants program, which provides transportation assistance to local hospitals and clinics,” said McCullough. “In our state, one of the biggest obstacles for patients is getting to/from treatment. Maybe a patient lives in a more rural part of Arkansas or perhaps they are elderly and adult children do not live nearby. Whatever the reason, these transportation grants provide peace of mind during what can only be described as a stressful chapter in their lives.”

The ACS of Arkansas is specifically looking for Transportation Train sponsors from businesses with ties to motor vehicles– car dealerships, trucking companies, trains, construction equipment, and others are encouraged to reach out to Tammy Quick for more on these impactful sponsorships.

Live music will be provided by Mary-Heather & The Sinners and the event committee is cooking up some midway-style fun to keep guests entertained.
