St. Joseph recognizes seniors

St. Joseph High School held its annual Junior/Senior Banquet May 11 at which numerous scholarships and academic awards were presented. One of the most coveted awards is the one named after Father Sylvester Dellert, who served as pastor of St. Joseph Church for 14 years back in the 1950s and 60s. The Father Dellert Award goes to the graduating senior boy and girl who best exemplify the school’s values and traditions.

Landon Bruich and Brianna Covington were the recipients. Landon is the son Bryan and Tracey Bruich while Brianna is the daughter of George and Brandi Covington. Landon is also one of the class Valedictorians and Brianna is a Salutatorian. Both have earned scholarships to attend the University of Central Arkansas this Fall.

Twelve seniors were also recognized as Honor Graduates. These included (left to right) Collin Davis, Sarah Beth Briggler (Valedictorian), Lauren Smith, Brittany Barnello, Tia Massa (Salutatorian), Mary Rose Siebenmorgen (Valedictorian), Connor Deen, Brianna Covington (Salutatorian), Mollie Angel, Tillar Lewis, Landon Bruich (Valedictorian) and Owen Echols. Scholarships of more than $1,000,000 from various colleges and universities have been accepted by St. Joseph’s graduating class.
