Spring photography workshops planned

A series of workshops on the basics of photography – “The Eye…The Difference” – will begin on Saturday, March 31.

Created by Bill Ward of Bee Branch, the classes are conducted on Saturdays at his cabin and are available for different experience levels.

“The essence of art has not changed, though the methods of capturing it have,” Ward noted while explaining that the workshops are designed to teach participants the art of seeing and execution before the shutter is fired.

Ward has been photographing in Arkansas and around the world since the early 1960s and has amassed an archive of almost half a million images.

He is author of two books, “Conway As it was…As it is,” published in 2008, and “Beyond the River…Stories of Life Near the Arkansas,” which premiered in December.

The first workshop will be conducted on March 31, and subsequent classes are planned into May.

Information may be obtained by contacting Ward at 501.450.2599 or visiting billwardphotography.com. Each class size is limited to four to eight participants.
