September issue of 501 LIFE to be featured on Channel 4

The September “Celebrating Baby Boomers” issue of 501 LIFE will be highlighted on KARK Channel 4 during the 12:30 p.m. show on Tuesday, Aug. 30.

Each month, 501 LIFE publisher and editor Sonja Keith presents information about the current edition.

By definition, those who were born between 1946 and 1964 are classified in this group. The designation stems from the “boom” of babies that were born following the end of World War II.

This month’s issue features Baby Boomers Marilyn Battles and Lori Melton on the cover.

“501 LIFE enlisted the help of our friends at First Service Bank to identify two individuals who represent the beginning of the era and the end to feature on this month’s cover. We were excited when we discovered that two special friends to the magazine, Marilyn Battles and Lori Melton, would be helping us with this issue,” said Keith. “Both have had wonderful careers in banking and have gone above and beyond to help others in the community.”

Other stories in this issue:

Neighbors – Growing up in Perry County, Denice Perry would borrow National Geographic magazines and dream of traveling to the fun and exotic places pictured. That dream became a reality as she led bank travel clubs, with the last 15 years as director of the First Security Bank Gold Club in Conway.

Entertaining – Don Bingham offers a suggestion or two for a new twist on some Baby Boomer favorite recipes.

Sports – Rebecca Vines knows how quickly life can change. One minute she and family were traveling to a birthday dinner. In the next, she worried that she might die while her family watched.

Sports – Missy Newton of Greenbrier has seen firsthand the impact that Soaring Wings Ranch has had on young people, and she is showing her support in a special way.
