RIVERVIEW: Raiders closing the gap in 2-4A

Conference: 2-4A
Coach: Stuart Hill
’14 Record: 2-8 (1-6)

The Riverview Raiders had a hard time moving up to 4A, winning just two games and only one in conference. But the Raiders played close in a few of their 2-4A losses and will look to reverse those fortunes this fall.

Senior David Lee returns at quarterback. Senior Andrew Moore, a 501 Football Team honoree, also returns in the backfield at fullback.

“I expect Andrew to be a consistent leader for us on and off the field,” said Coach Mike McCain. “I also expect him to be able to make great decisions on the defensive side of the ball. Andrew is a young man of great character and integrity. He is the type of player you want on your football team.”

Senior Kirby Keeney leads at receiver, and senior Chris Neal is a steady option at tight end. Seniors Blake Edom, Brandon Russell, Cody Guffy, Adam Soto and Elias Reynoso and junior Kendall Hodges make up the offensive line.

Edom and Neal were all-conference starters on the defensive line last fall. Moore also starts at linebacker, alongside Keeney and senior Jesse Dunbar. Lee and seniors Ganam Kasses and Edy Mejia lead the way in the secondary.
