Ribbon-cutting for ‘Precious Pantries’

CONWAY — The inaugural cohort of the Women’s Leadership Academy will host a ribbon-cutting to celebrate the installation of community pantries at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 6, at the Pine Street Community Museum, 1270 Factory St. The community is invited to attend the ribbon-cutting, and refreshments will be served.

The Academy raised funds to build three community pantries called, Precious Pantries, with the help of the University of Central Arkansas AmeriCorps and BearsServe Leaders, in partnership with EngageAr. Precious Pantries are small food pantries placed throughout a community near nonprofits, schools, businesses and residential neighborhoods. Community members are invited to take what they need from the boxes, and individuals and organizations are also encouraged to place donations of food and other basic needs in the boxes as they can.

In addition to the Pine Street Community Museum, Precious Pantries are located at the Faulkner County Senior Wellness and Activity Center and the Faulkner County Library. For more information, contact Shaneil Ealy, associate vice president of the Division of Outreach and Community Engagement, at [email protected] or 501.450.5266.
