Red Curtain to present ‘Barefoot in the Park’

Red Curtain Theatre will present “Barefoot in the Park” from Friday, May 19, through Sunday, May 21, at the Trieschmann Fine Arts Building at Hendrix College. This Neil Simon comedic play was his longest running hit with more than 1,500 performances on Broadway.

This classic romantic comedy explores love, relationships and marriage as newlyweds Corie and Paul Bratter negotiate their first apartment, eccentric neighbors and a meddling mother. Neil Simon’s hit sparkles with lively wordplay and laughs, as well as charming characters who find joy amid inspired lunacy.

Director Mike King says, “Neil Simon’s ‘Barefoot In The Park’ is a delightful snapshot of newlywed life set in New York City in the 1960s. What an absolute delight it is to direct these talented actors as they bring the joys and struggles of newly married life to the stage. Come watch the hilarity unfold as the newlyweds try to settle into their new home. There will be no end to the surprises of newly married bliss!”
