Bobby and Cynthia Kennedy will be enjoying summer food and fun in the family’s new swimming pool.

The backyard project was completed in October at the couple’s home in Quitman. “We are looking forward to our first full summer,” Bobby said.

The salt water, concrete pool is heated, which extends the swimming season for the family. According to Cynthia, the feature made it possible to swim as late as October last year and as early as April this year.

Jeremy Lawson of Luxury Pool and Spa said the pool is also equipped with a chiller to help during the hot summer months. “It will help keep a pretty constant temperature,” he said.

Cynthia said another feature that she requested in the pool design was a diving board. She also asked that natural rock be incorporated into the decking surrounding the pool. According to Lawson, the Kennedy pool has other special features, including LED lights and a premium Diamond Brite finish.

The Kennedys, who are Quitman natives, consider the pool a perfect place for family gatherings as well as entertaining friends.

Bobby gives high marks to Luxury Pool and Spa for their work on constructing the pool. “They’ve done a really good job,” he said. “They’ve done exactly what they said they would do.”

Noting that Luxury Pool is a family-owned and operated business, Jeremy said he enjoys working with families. “It’s always fun to build a pool for those who are family-oriented.”

Started by Jeremy’s grandpa, Luxury Pool has been in business for more than 40 years, the last 11 years in Conway. Jeremy and his brother, Shane, took over the business from their dad about four years ago. Jeremy focuses on sales and service while Shane handles construction.

“It’s a good fit for both of us.”

For those thinking about adding a swimming pool at their home, Jeremy highly recommends consulting with a reputable professional in the industry. He said that professionals will be able to help identify what type and size of pool would fit best in the space available. He said there are a lot of factors to consider in constructing a pool, including building conditions that some homeowners may not have thought about. A swimming pool professional will point those out, too.

Bobby is also complimentary of the maintenance services provided by Luxury and how responsive the company has been. “They’ve been really good to work with,” he said. “Anytime I call with a question, they are quick to respond. It’s been good to work with a real professional group.”

“Everything we sell, we service,” Jeremy said, adding that the business prides itself on providing personal attention. (For more information on Luxury Pools, call 501.327.1772 or visit luxurypoolsarkansas.com.)

Prior to construction of the 20-foot by 40-foot concrete pool, the Kennedys had a small deck on the back of their house overlooking the scenic beauty of the Quitman area. The pool design, outdoor furnishings and adjacent outdoor kitchen complement that beauty.

“I like it,” said Bobby. “We enjoy it and spend a lot of time out here.”

Jeremy, too, is pleased with the completed project. “I’m glad we could get them the pool they wanted,” he said. “It turned out really nice. I enjoy building pools for good people.”
