City: Heaven on earth (Fairfield Bay).

Work: Dual role: Mayor of Fairfield Bay and general manager of the Fairfield Bay Community Club Property Owners Association.

Community activities: Member and past president of the Lions Club, Rotary Club, Indian Rock Village Auxiliary and member of the Emergency Medical Services team (ambulance driver).

Church activities: Member and past Deacon of Fairfield Bay Baptist Church.

Family: Wife of 45 years, Cindy; son, Chuck, and daughter-in-law, Misti; and two grandchildren, Addison and Brinkley; daughter, Stacia, deceased.

Education: Monticello High School and the University of Arkansas (bachelor of science degree in industrial management).

Last book you read: I am a magazine, newspaper and Internet reader. Just don’t take the time to read books.

Favorite book: Bible, I love exploring and discussing it in Sunday school class.

Favorite meal: Steak, baked potato, green beans and French bread.

Most cherished possession: A picture with my granddaughters in my lap the day I was sworn in as mayor.

Most enjoyed weekend activity: Golf.

No. 1 vacation spot: We love to cruise, no matter where we are going (even if we get stranded in the Pacific Ocean for four days). Love going to and seeing new places.

Favorite place in Arkansas: Fairfield Bay, of course.

What do you love about living in the 501: It is so beautiful — the lakes, the mountains, the wildlife and the diversity of our citizens.
